Spicers Paper is a global paper supplier with 100 years of history.

Their goal is to bring paper to life through the power of the message — ie. through the message the user commits to the paper.

One of the biggest problems for the communications industry, and through it the paper industry, is that 'what you order ain't always what you get'. Time and again you find that you are not competitively quoting identical specifications. Cheaper paper stocks have been substituted — often unknown to the end-using client — so the honest design company and the unknowing client both unfairly miss out, albeit in different ways.

To end this practice and make the playing field more even, Spicers introduced their 'Respect the Spec.' campaign in an attempt to give the Client what they have paid for and the stock that the Designer has specified. 'No Substitutions' — simple and fair.

What could be more noble than that?

As a company that has always strived for the best wholistic outcomes for clients walterwakefield was Spicers' first choice to be the messenger. And as a company that has always explicitly explained to our clients just what it is that they are getting, we were pleased and obliged to embed ourselves into the 'Respect the Spec.' campaign.
